100% private — your image never leaves your browser.

Convert WebP images to JPG when you need maximum compatibility — with old email clients, printers, or software that does not support WebP.

Processing is 100% local, so your images never leave your device.

How to use this tool

  1. Add your WebP

Drag and drop your WebP image onto the tool or choose a file.

  2. JPG is pre-selected

The output format is already set to JPG.

  3. Adjust quality

Move the quality slider to balance size and quality — 80 is a good default.

  4. Download

Download your JPG file, ready to send or print.

Why convert WebP to JPEG

Compatibility, almost always. JPEG is the most universally accepted image format there is: every browser, every editor, every upload form, every print pipeline. WebP is better on the web and worse nearly everywhere else.

The conversion costs you file size — a JPEG of the same image is typically 25–35% larger than the WebP — and a small amount of quality, because the image is being re-encoded.

What you lose besides size

  • Transparency. If the WebP has an alpha channel, JPEG cannot store it and the transparent areas will be filled with a solid colour.
  • Animation, if the WebP was an animated sequence — JPEG has no equivalent.
  • The quality you already spent. Re-encoding a lossy image always loses a little more.

The better alternative when you can use it

If the destination accepts PNG and the image is a screenshot or a graphic, PNG will be both more compatible and lossless — though larger than the WebP. If the destination is a photograph and only accepts JPEG, this conversion is exactly right.

Frequently asked questions

Why convert WebP to JPG?

JPG works everywhere — email clients, printers, and legacy software. WebP does not always render on older devices.

Will I lose quality?

Converting to JPG is lossy, but at quality 80–90 the difference is barely visible to the eye.

Is it private?

Yes — the conversion happens entirely in your browser.
